I Walk Alone
Here in the hearing world, I walk alone
Calls for help go unheard
Ignorance neglects to acknowledge my Deaf World
From those who don't understand
Sign Languages are a joke
They think I can't be educated
I have dreams to pursue
So much in life I want to do
All that is outside tried to push me down
Just give me a chance to do what I know I can do
Reach as far as I can reach
Why, in the hearing world, do I walk alone?
Words running in my head
Squeezing hands into a fist
Feeling the burning rage
So furious, so angry
I will not let the deafness make me fall
Im not defective, im just different that's all
I will not fail because I am strong
I won't give up, I just want to belong into one World
Sign language is beautiful thing once you understand it is our voice and
our song
Why can't we just be equal and learn how get along?
Please don't crush our world because its different from your own
Until you take my hand and understand
Still I walk alone
