A superior court judge on Friday gave attorneys for former FCC quarterback Emmanuel Lewis an additional three weeks to prepare his defense against drug charges.

Lewis’ attorney, David Washington, asked for the time extension. Fresno County Superior Court judge Jonathan R. Conklin agreed, scheduling Lewis’ next preliminary hearing for Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Lewis, who is currently out on bail after being arrested Dec. 10, talked periodically friday with Washington in the public gallery before the hearing. He sat silently through most of the proceedings.
